Our Family Office team brings the same holistic, empowering approach to safety and protection that we use for corporate clients. We work with families to protect private residences, family members, modes of transportation, personal travel, and more.
The Tomahawk strategy starts with an assessment to understand the current level of safety and security surrounding the family. This initial step helps identify potential threats and shapes our security recommendations. When we assess a home, we consider factors such as:
- Known threats
- Identifying potential threats
- Location of the closest Level 1 Trauma Hospital
- Typical first responder response times
- Crime rates in the surrounding area
- Level of training and awareness present in the home, including security, cyber, medical emergencies, etc.
Once we identify vulnerabilities, we provide realistic solutions to mitigate risk and increase the family’s safety and security. Just like our corporate services, our Family Office team offers solutions that work for the family and their lifestyle, preferences, and priorities.
Solutions run the gamut, including staff first response training, technical surveillance countermeasures “sweeps” of the family’s homes and modes of travel (e.g., airplanes, yachts, helicopters), digital privacy monitoring and deletion, cyber and social media best practices training, background/due diligence investigations, and more.
We realize many families don’t have the time or expertise to research and hire the providers that would implement the solutions, so we work as the family’s project manager, coordinating with the providers to ensure they address the vulnerabilities we identified and increase their security. Based on the complexity of the family’s situation, our team can provide a wide variety of services.
Case Study: Personalized Security Around the World
For one of our clients, we brought the Tomahawk approach to his family’s security around the world.
After successfully supporting the corporate security needs of a Fortune 500 company, we began to serve its Founder and CEO, who had been recognized as one of Forbes’s 50 wealthiest people. He was so happy with our partnership with his company that it seemed logical we could help his family as well.
Initially, we conducted an assessment and implemented security measures for the family’s primary residence. Following the successful execution of these measures, we extended our services to their other residences across the globe. We completed comprehensive risk mitigation projects, provided staff training at their various properties, and continue to provide ongoing support to ensure their continued safety and security.
One unique issue this client faced was a small staff at each property. The staff was responsible for ensuring the family enjoyed a safe and secure experience every time they visited one of their residences. If an emergency occurred in one of the residences, the staff would likely be the immediate first responders. Knowing that time is critical in an emergency, Tomahawk created a course specifically for each property staff that covered basic security measures and active threat protocols, including Stop the Bleed, CPR, and AED training.
