Kelly Thorne is a Senior Instructor at Tomahawk with more than 20 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy. He brings a deep operational background and a strong commitment to excellence in training, leadership, and mission execution.
Mr. Thorne served over 20 years as a Navy SEAL assigned to SEAL Team One and Naval Special Warfare Development Group, where he played a critical role in some of the nation’s most demanding and sensitive missions. Over the course of his career, he completed 13 combat deployments, demonstrating exceptional courage, professionalism, and leadership in high-risk environments. His service has been recognized with numerous awards, including five Bronze Star Medals and multiple other combat-related honors. He retired in January 2023 and holds a B.S. in Strategic Studies from Norwich University, as well as a Graduate Certificate from Harvard Business School.
Today, Mr. Thorne continues to apply his experience to developing and mentoring others, drawing on decades of real-world military operations. He resides in the Sierra Nevada mountains with his wife and their three children.
