Martin Delaney

Program Manager

Martin Delaney is a Program Manager at Tomahawk, overseeing a range of training programs and specialized courses for law enforcement and corporate clients. With a keen eye for strategic program development and a background in law enforcement training, he ensures that Tomahawk's education initiatives meet the diverse needs of clients.

Mr. Delaney began his law enforcement career in 1995 and retired in August 2020 as Bergen County’s Prosecutorial Chief of Investigations. During his tenure, he served as the Operations Commander for the 100-member Bergen County Regional SWAT Team. Certified by the New Jersey Police Training Commission as an instructor and holding a law degree, Mr. Delaney has had a multifaceted career, including roles as an assistant prosecutor, a tactical team member, and a prosecutor for high-profile cases. His expertise was pivotal in developing Bergen County’s Active Shooter Response Policy, widely recognized and adopted as a model in New Jersey. Appointed by the state's Attorney General to the Active Shooter Response Task Force, Mr. Delaney served as the Executive Director of the Bergen County Safe Schools Task Force, addressing school safety with a holistic approach.

Mr. Delaney is active in his community and serves as a Blue and Gold Officer for the United States Naval Academy to help guide applicants through the admissions process. As an adjunct professor of criminal justice at Montclair State University, he imparts his knowledge to the next generation. He’s also a certified rescue diver, working with a local municipal emergency services unit's SCUBA rescue team.
